Dr. Jason Kur is at the forefront of treating rheumatologic diseases in Canada. His philosophy of patient-centred, evidence-based therapy brings the latest in medical advancements to the treatment of complex inflammatory conditions.
Dr. Jason Kur has a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta and was trained in both internal medicine and rheumatology at the University of British Columbia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is a member of the clinical staff of Vancouver General Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia teaching junior doctors and medical students. His practice interests include psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis / spondyloarthopathies, osteoporosis and gout. He also travels frequently to care for outreach patients in Terrace, BC.
Dr. Kur has had extensive experience representing doctors in Canada. He has served as the President of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students and a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Medical Association.
He has sat on many national committees and routinely lends his voice in the discussion of rheumatology care locally and nationally. He currently serves as the President of the British Columbia Society of Rheumatologists with an interest in physician resource issues.
Dr. Kur enjoys many of the activities the West Coast offers, including swimming, running and cycling. He’s an avid competitor in triathlons, running and skate skiing.
